This Privacy Policy explains how Was It Luck? collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the website, analyze a Sleeper league, create an optional account, or contact us.

Information We Collect

• Sleeper details: When you enter a Sleeper username or league ID, we process those identifiers and retrieve public account, roster, league, matchup, transaction, player, and season data from the Sleeper API.
• Optional account details: If you sign in, Amazon Cognito provides us with a stable account identifier, your email address, and a display name or username. We do not receive your password.
• Saved league details: For signed-in users, we may store the provider, Sleeper account and league identifiers, league name, season, roster ID, scoring format, league type, and saved or updated timestamps.
• Authentication data: The sign-in flow uses an authorization code, PKCE verifier, state value, and Cognito access and ID tokens. Tokens are stored in your browser's session storage and sent to authenticated API routes when needed.
• Contact information: If you submit the contact form, we collect your email address, optional name, message category, message, submission time, and the IP address used for security and rate limiting.
• Usage and technical information: We and our service providers may process IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, interactions, timestamps, request logs, and similar diagnostic or analytics information.

How We Use Your Information

• Find your public Sleeper leagues and calculate fantasy football analytics.
• Authenticate optional accounts and keep saved leagues associated with the correct user.
• Apply the feature access and league limits shown for an account.
• Cache source data, operate the site, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve performance.
• Measure site usage, understand which features are useful, and improve the service.
• Review and respond to feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and privacy enquiries.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect the service, its users, and others.

Storage, Retention, and Security

Was It Luck? runs on Amazon Web Services. Amazon Cognito manages account authentication, and account profiles, saved-league records, feedback, and cached fantasy data may be stored in AWS services such as DynamoDB. Public website files and requests are delivered through AWS hosting and content-delivery services.

Browser authentication tokens are kept in session storage and are cleared by the site when you sign out or when an expired session is detected. Account and saved-league records are retained while they are needed to provide account features or until they are deleted in response to a valid request, subject to legal, security, and backup requirements. Contact submissions and operational logs are retained for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, and operate the service.

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect stored data, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Data may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.

Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as needed to operate the service, including to:

• Amazon Web Services and Amazon Cognito for hosting, storage, APIs, content delivery, security, and authentication.
• Sleeper to request public fantasy football data using the identifiers supplied through the site.
• Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage.
• Google AdSense and advertising partners to request, measure, and personalize advertising where advertising is enabled.
• Authorities, advisers, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or handle a business reorganization.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

The site and its providers may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, browser storage, and similar technologies. Google Analytics uses these technologies to measure site usage. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve and measure personalized or non-personalized ads.

Google advertising, personalization, user-data, and analytics storage signals are set to denied by default before Google tags load. You may use public league analysis without creating a Was It Luck? account, choose which leagues to save, remove saved leagues through the account dashboard, and sign out to clear the site's authentication tokens from session storage. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection concerning personal information, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

Submit a request through the contact page. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Third-Party Services and Links

Sleeper, Amazon, Google, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, and other linked services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Was It Luck? is not affiliated with Sleeper and does not control how those third parties process information on their services.

Children's Privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the site.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
